Gold Prices Climbed! SUNSHINE Weekly Metal Prices Tracker: June 9-13, 2025

This week (June 9 to 13, 2025), metal prices exhibited some fluctuations across different markets. Based on the price data from the China, India, UK, and US Exchanges on the SUNSHINE, the following is a report on Copper, Aluminum, Gold, and Silver prices. 

Copper Prices

Copper prices declined across most countries this week, with the US and UK experiencing the most significant drops. 

China: Copper prices in China were volatile this week. After a slight increase early in the week, prices dropped for two consecutive days, ending at 78,010 CNY/MT on June 13. This marks a decline from 78,910 CNY/MT on June 9, down 900 CNY/MT or 1.14%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 6), prices dropped by 1.17%. 

India: Copper prices in India followed a “fall-then-rise” pattern. After two days of decline, prices began to recover but did not return to the week’s starting level. Prices fell from 882.60 INR/kg (June 9) to 875.90 INR/kg (June 13), a decrease of 0.76%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 6), prices were nearly flat, down just 0.01%. 

United Kingdom: Copper prices in UK were highly volatile and generally trended downward, with only a slight rebound on June 12. Prices fell from 9,793 USD/MT (June 9) to 9,645 USD/MT (June 13), a drop of 1.51%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 6), prices declined slightly by 0.50%. 

United States: Copper prices in the US rose slightly early in the week but fell for three consecutive days, including a sharp daily decline of 1.62% on June 11. Prices dropped from 4.8965 USD/Lb (June 9) to 4.746 USD/Lb (June 13), down 3.07%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 6), prices decreased by 1.42%. 

Aluminum Prices

Aluminum prices showed a generally upward trend this week, led by China, while the US market saw significant intraday volatility. 

China: After a slight drop at the start of the week, China’s aluminum prices rose steadily, climbing from 20,025 CNY/MT (June 9) to 20,440 CNY/MT (June 13), an increase of 2.07%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 6), prices rose by 1.84%. 

India: Aluminum prices in India saw modest fluctuations. After a series of small gains, prices fell slightly on June 13 but still rose overall, from 239.75 INR/kg (June 9) to 242.10 INR/kg (June 13), up 0.98%. Compared to the previous week, prices increased by 1.81%. 

United Kingdom: Aluminum prices in UK showed a mild upward trend, rising steadily until a pullback on June 13. Prices increased from 2,479 USD/MT (June 9) to 2,503 USD/MT (June 13), a gain of 0.97%. Compared to the previous week, prices were up by 2.14%. 

United States: Aluminum prices in the US were highly volatile. After a 2.78% jump on June 11, prices fell for two straight days, ending almost flat at 2,411 USD/MT (June 13) from 2,410.25 USD/MT (June 9), a marginal increase of 0.03%. Compared to the previous week, prices rose by 2.36%. 

Gold Prices

Gold prices rose across all countries this week, with notable increases in India and the US. 

China: Gold prices in China climbed steadily, with gains accelerating later in the week. Prices rose from 773.74 CNY/g (June 9) to 793.66 CNY/g (June 13), up 2.57%. Compared to the previous week, prices rose by 1.45%. 

India: After minor declines in the first two days, India’s gold prices rebounded strongly, with gains approaching 4% over the final two days. Prices rose from 9,717.3 INR/g (June 9) to 10,027.6 INR/g (June 13), an increase of 3.19%. Compared to the previous week, prices rose by 3.34%. 

United States: Gold prices in the US showed a consistent upward trend, with daily gains increasing through the week. Prices rose from 3,324.4 USD/oz t (June 9) to 3,432.6 USD/oz t (June 13), up 3.25%. Compared to the previous week, prices rose by 3.76%. 

Silver Prices

Silver prices generally weakened across countries this week, with the US market seeing the sharpest drop. China: Silver prices in China declined throughout the week, except for a minor rebound on June 11. Prices fell from 8,899 CNY/kg (June 9) to 8,780 CNY/kg (June 13), down 1.34%. Compared to the previous week, prices decreased slightly by 0.70%. 

India: Silver prices in India dropped significantly in the early part of the week but partially recovered later. Overall, prices fell from 107,087 INR/kg (June 9) to 106,493 INR/kg (June 13), a decrease of 0.55%. Compared to the previous week, prices rose by 0.98%. 

United States: Silver prices in the US dropped sharply in the early part of the week and only rebounded slightly on June 13. Prices fell from 36.92 USD/oz t (June 9) to 36.275 USD/oz t (June 13), down 1.75%. Compared to the previous week, prices increased slightly by 0.79%.
