According to an official announcement by Recyclekaro Group, a leading Indian player in e-waste and lithium-ion battery recycling, the company has launched Reloop, India’s first direct-to-consumer (D2C) recycling platform. The platform aims to simplify the process of responsible e-waste disposal and encourage greater citizen participation through reward-driven incentives.

As reported by Recyclekaro, Reloop allows users in Hyderabad—the pilot city for the platform—to schedule doorstep pickups for used electronics and batteries. The service, which will be expanded to cities such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, and Delhi NCR, enables individuals to sell or donate items including phones, laptops, and chargers. In return, participants receive Green Points, which can be redeemed as coupons or vouchers from participating brands.

The platform also promotes community recycling initiatives across schools, residential complexes, and workplaces. According to the company, users can track their environmental contributions using the built-in Eco Impact Tracker, which provides real-time data on carbon savings and landfill waste reduction. Additional features include gamified milestones and on-site engagement tools to promote long-term behavioral change.

For institutions and businesses, Reloop reportedly supports CSR-linked recycling programs, offers digital certification, and leverages AI-based logistics tools to streamline operations. The multilingual interface is designed to cater to India’s diverse user base.

Recyclekaro claims to currently process over 7,500 tonnes of e-waste and 4,200 tonnes of lithium-ion battery waste annually. According to data shared by the company, it has seen a 70% growth rate in recent years. The launch of Reloop is seen as part of its broader mission to foster a zero-waste circular economy in line with India’s updated E-Waste Management Rules, 2022.

Industry experts observe that with India’s e-waste generation projected to escalate rapidly by 2025, citizen-facing initiatives like Reloop could play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between individual action and national sustainability targets.
