EWASTE+ Expands in the US Northeast with Acquisition of Take 2 Recycling
According to an official announcement from EWASTE+, the New York-based electronics recycling and IT asset disposition provider has acquired Take 2 Recycling, a Connecticut-based company recognized for its environmentally responsible recycling practices and strong community engagement.
As reported on EWASTE+’s official website, the acquisition aligns with the company’s ongoing expansion strategy across the Northeastern United States. The move is expected to enhance EWASTE+’s geographic presence and strengthen its service capabilities in the region. With existing facilities in Victor, Albany, and the New York City area, the company will now integrate Take 2’s operations in Waterbury, Connecticut.
Industry sources indicate that EWASTE+ is backed by private equity and continues to position itself as a regional leader in secure electronics recycling and data protection services.
“This is a full-circle moment,” said EWASTE+ President Andrew Vermette in a statement, noting that he once worked under Take 2 President Mick Schum. “Years ago, I worked under Mick, so its professionally rewarding to now bring the company he built into the EWASTE+ family. We’re excited to welcome his talented team and build on our shared commitment to responsible recycling.”
Founded in 2013, Take 2 Recycling has established a reputation for regulatory compliance and a strong service ethic. According to EWASTE+, the experienced team at Take 2 will remain in place and contribute to the company’s broader growth strategy in the Northeast.
In response to the announcement, Mick Schum expressed confidence in the transition. “We built Take 2 around values of integrity, service, and sustainability—and it’s clear EWASTE+ shares those same principles,” he said. “Our people are ready to help drive an even greater impact as part of this growing organization.”
The integration will be gradual, with both companies emphasizing a commitment to uninterrupted service and enhanced regional support for clients.
