Critical Materials, Battery and E-Waste Recycling Expos Set for Atlanta in October

August 21, 2026

According to industry reports, the 2026 editions of Critical Minerals Expo North America, Battery Recycling Expo North America and E-Waste World Expo North America will take place on October 28-29 at the Cobb Convention Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Organizers have released a preliminary conference agenda featuring more than 60 speakers from the critical minerals, battery recycling and electronics recycling sectors.

The three events will be held alongside each other, bringing together industry executives, policymakers, engineers and other resource recovery professionals. Conference admission is free, although places on the conference stages are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Critical Minerals Track will examine developments across rare earths, tungsten and base metals. Mark Wall, CEO of American Rare Earths, is scheduled to discuss the rare earths market, while Lewis Black, CEO and President of Almonty, will address the North American tungsten market. Kamila Slupek, Secretary General of the International Copper Study Group, will also lead a panel discussion with base metal specialists.

The Battery Recycling Track will focus on regulatory requirements, critical mineral recovery and battery supply chains. Phoebe O'Connor, a Program Analyst at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is scheduled to discuss end-of-life battery management and EPA regulations. Other sessions will cover black mass recovery, direct recycling and supply chain security, with speakers including Ryan Melsert, CEO of American Battery Technology Company, and Jeff Reeves, Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Battery Council International.

The E-Waste Recycling Track will address material recovery from electronics and the role of e-waste in critical mineral supply chains. Alexandra Levesque, Co-founder and CEO of iUMiX SA, will present a session on recovering gold from printed circuit boards (PCBs). Nana Yaw Konadu, CEO of Electro Recycling Ghana, will discuss opportunities for North American companies to source critical materials through African e-waste supply chains, while Jim Puckett, Founder of Basel Action Network, will examine the expected increase in e-waste linked to the growth of artificial intelligence infrastructure.

Organizers said the three events are designed to cover the critical materials value chain from extraction and processing through manufacturing, recovery and recycling. The programs will include keynote presentations, technical sessions, panel discussions and industry-focused conversations.

“By making the conference entirely free to attend, we are removing barriers to vital industry intelligence,” said Gabriel Day, Conference Manager at Trans-World Events. He said the programme is intended to give engineers, metallurgists, recyclers and policymakers access to technical information and market data relevant to resource recovery and supply chain development.

The three expos will run on October 28-29, 2026, in Atlanta, with the conference program covering critical minerals, battery recycling and e-waste recycling.
