Ace Green Recycling and Gold Star Metals Forge Long-Term Battery Supply Pact in Texas

September 10, 2025

According to an official announcement, Ace Green Recycling has entered into a strategic multi-year supply agreement with Gold Star Metals to secure feedstock for its upcoming battery recycling facility in Texas.

Ace Green Recycling, a U.S.-based provider of sustainable recycling technology, confirmed that Gold Star Metals will supply at least 30,000 metric tons of used lead-acid batteries (ULABs) annually. The agreement allows volumes to scale up to 100,000 metric tons per year, aligned with Ace’s expansion plans at its flagship Texas facility, slated to begin operations in 2026.

According to the announcement, the supply will be sourced from six southern U.S. states—Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, and New Mexico—enhancing the company’s existing agreements and ensuring a steady stream of recyclable material.

“This partnership is a major step in securing a stable and sustainable supply chain for our U.S. operations,” said Siddharth Roy, Business Director at Ace Green Recycling.

Parth Tanna, Business Manager at Gold Star Metals, noted that Ace is “a visionary when it comes to scaling environmentally friendly solutions for lead battery recycling.”

The U.S. battery recycling sector is facing growing pressure to adapt to stricter environmental regulations, rising demand for secondary raw materials, and the broader transition toward electrification. Lead-acid batteries continue to play an important role in automotive and industrial applications, and recycling them in a sustainable manner can help reduce environmental risks while supporting supply chain stability. Agreements such as the one between Ace and GSM may contribute to strengthening domestic recycling infrastructure and gradually reducing reliance on emissions-intensive smelting practices.

By entering into this long-term partnership, Ace Green Recycling and Gold Star Metals are aiming to expand their role in the North American battery recycling landscape, with potential implications for cleaner supply chains and more sustainable industry growth.
