According to company reports, Flex IT and T1A Group have completed their combination to form a European circular IT platform with approximately €150 million in revenue, bringing corporate IT collection, IT asset disposition (ITAD), certified data erasure, refurbishment and pan-European distribution under one group. The transaction is backed by the Eurazeo Planetary Boundaries Fund (EPBF) as majority shareholder, with Dansk Vækstkapital as a minority investor.

The two companies operate at different stages of the IT asset lifecycle. Founded in Denmark in 2001, T1A collects corporate IT equipment at the end of its first use and provides certified data erasure and refurbishment services. Flex IT, founded in 1991 and headquartered in Leiden, the Netherlands, distributes new and refurbished IT hardware through a network of about 13,000 resellers across Europe. It also operates certified refurbishment capacity in Toruń, Poland, as well as rental and demonstration services.

The combination links these activities into a single operating chain. Corporate devices can be collected under contract, securely erased and refurbished at a certified facility, then returned to the market through the group’s distribution network. Both companies hold R2v3 certification, with certified processing operations across Denmark, the Netherlands and Poland.

For the circular IT market, the integration gives the combined group control over more stages of the asset lifecycle, from collection and data processing through refurbishment and resale. The companies said this could increase the volume of corporate IT equipment returned to use, extend device lifetimes and reduce electronic waste and material loss.

Angelo Bul, Chief Executive of Flex IT, will lead the combined group as Chief Executive Officer, while T1A founder Peter Hemicke becomes Executive Chairman and will focus on group strategy. Hemicke will also remain a co-investor alongside EPBF.

Bul said the main challenge in circular IT is often securing equipment at the end of its first use rather than finding a market for refurbished devices. “Together with T1A we can now take responsibility for the whole life of a client’s equipment, from the day it arrives to the day it leaves and beyond,” he said.

Hemicke said T1A had spent 25 years developing corporate IT collection and certified refurbishment capabilities, while Flex IT had built its European sales and distribution network over a longer period. He said the combination would allow equipment collected in one European market to be refurbished and resold in another while maintaining certification, warranty and chain-of-custody requirements.

T1A processes more than 250,000 data-carrying units annually, according to the company. The combined group intends to continue pursuing acquisitions and other external growth opportunities to expand its geographic presence and service portfolio.

The transaction follows EPBF’s acquisition of a majority stake in T1A in May 2026 and its subsequent funding of the Flex IT acquisition with support from Dansk Vækstkapital. Financial terms for the Flex IT transaction were not disclosed.
