Greybull Stewardship Acquires Mid-West Textile to Expand Textile Reuse and Recycling

October 19, 2026

Greybull Stewardship has acquired Mid-West Textile, a U.S.-based textile collection and recycling company, as the investment firm looks to support the business's continued growth and expand its retail operations. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Based in El Paso, Texas, Mid-West Textile has operated in the used textile industry since 1982. Its business covers the collection, sorting, and grading of used clothing and textiles, supplying materials to wholesale markets, thrift retailers, fiber reclamation operators, and industrial wiping cloth suppliers. The company also operates multiple Thrift Town retail stores in Texas and New Mexico.

The acquisition comes as textile reuse and recycling businesses face the practical challenge of collecting and processing used materials at scale. Extending the useful life of clothing depends not only on consumer participation, but also on collection networks, sorting operations, and established outlets for recovered materials.

Greybull plans to provide Mid-West Textile with capital and operational support as the company develops its business. The firm also sees opportunities to expand the Thrift Town retail network in the coming years, although no specific expansion schedule or investment amount was announced.

Mason Myers, founder and CEO of Greybull Stewardship, said the company sees long-term potential in businesses that collect, process, and redirect used textiles for further use. He noted that Mid-West Textile has built an established operation around extending the life of used clothing and textiles, and that Greybull intends to support its next stage of growth.

Founded in 2010 and headquartered in Jackson, Wyoming, Greybull Stewardship invests in established smaller businesses and provides operational guidance alongside financial resources. Mid-West Textile adds to the firm's existing investments in the textile sector, which include RTCM and ClothesBin.

For the recycling industry, the acquisition highlights continued investment in the infrastructure needed to keep used textiles in circulation. Collection, sorting, and access to end markets remain important parts of the process, particularly as businesses seek practical ways to divert reusable materials from the waste stream.
