Axium Packaging Opens Advanced Brampton Plant to Drive Sustainable Growth in Canada

September 25, 2025

Axium Packaging has announced the official launch of its new manufacturing facility in Brampton, Ontario, a move that signals the company’s most significant Canadian investment to date. According to the company’s statement, the 227,000-square-foot plant is designed to boost production efficiency while expanding the use of recycled materials in packaging solutions.

Reports indicate that this is Axium’s third facility in Ontario since its founding in 2010, reflecting steady growth over the past 15 years. The new site is equipped with more than 45 production lines covering injection stretch blow molding, extrusion blow molding and injection molding, along with finishing and decoration processes. It is understood that the plant also includes ten plastic resin silos, three of which are dedicated to post-consumer recycled (PCR) material, enabling the company to incorporate PCR in up to 30% of its packaging solutions with the ability to scale further as demand increases.

“This facility leverages the latest Axium equipment and processing technology and will be a platform to serve our customers across Canada with speed and agility,” said Pushminder Judge, Founder and CEO of Axium Packaging. “Brampton is the ideal place to keep building on that vision while supporting our employees, their families and economic development throughout the region.”

According to the company, the Brampton facility benefits from its location near Toronto Pearson International Airport and Axium’s existing sites, which is expected to reduce transportation costs, shorten delivery times and lower environmental impacts. Paul Judge, President of Axium Packaging, added that the investment would strengthen the company’s position as a trusted partner for consumer brands across North America.

Local officials have also welcomed the project. Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown said the company’s decision to expand in the city demonstrates confidence in Brampton’s role as a hub for advanced manufacturing and sustainability, noting that the investment will create jobs and contribute to long-term economic growth.

Industry observers highlight that the packaging sector faces mounting regulatory and consumer pressure to reduce plastic waste. Canada has pledged to achieve zero plastic waste by 2030, with new extended producer responsibility programs reshaping packaging requirements nationwide. Against this backdrop, Axium’s investment in PCR integration and localized production is seen as a timely step to align with both regulatory expectations and brand-owner sustainability goals.

With operations already underway, the Brampton plant is expected to add new jobs and broaden Axium’s ability to serve industries ranging from healthcare and nutrition to household and food products. According to the company, the facility also highlights Axium’s commitment to combining growth, innovation and environmental responsibility as it marks its 15th year in business.
