Beetles Gel Polish has partnered with TerraCycle® to launch the Beetles Loves Earth Free Recycling Program, a nationwide initiative aimed at improving recycling options for used gel polish and nail polish packaging across the United States.

According to company reports, the program accepts dry, empty glass gel polish and nail polish bottles from any brand, along with their associated plastic caps. The initiative addresses a longstanding challenge in the beauty industry, where nail polish packaging is typically excluded from municipal curbside recycling systems due to residual product contamination, cleaning requirements, and processing costs.

Under the program, collected materials will be processed through TerraCycle’s recycling network. Glass components will be converted into recycled raw materials for use in construction-related applications such as bricks, cement, and concrete, while other accepted materials will be directed into appropriate recycling streams.

The program forms part of Beetles Gel Polish’s broader sustainability efforts and extends responsibility beyond product use to end-of-life packaging management. By accepting packaging from competing brands, the company is positioning the initiative as an industry-wide recycling solution rather than a brand-specific take-back program.

Consumers and nail professionals can participate by bringing eligible empty bottles to designated Beetles Loves Earth collection points. The company said it plans to expand the network of drop-off locations across additional states and cities and is also developing a mail-in option to improve accessibility for participants in rural and remote areas.

To encourage participation, Beetles will offer rewards based on the number of bottles returned, including product incentives, coupons, and limited-edition gift boxes.

The initiative also invites broader participation from salon operators, nail artists, retailers, schools, community groups, sustainability advocates, and other beauty brands. Individuals and organizations interested in hosting collection points can apply to become Beetles Loves Earth Recycling Ambassadors.

The launch reflects growing pressure on the beauty and personal care sector to address packaging waste and improve material recovery rates. While recycling programs for cosmetics packaging have expanded in recent years, nail polish containers remain a particularly difficult waste stream due to their mixed-material construction and residual chemical contents.

Through its partnership with TerraCycle, Beetles aims to create a dedicated recovery pathway for these materials while increasing consumer awareness of responsible disposal options within the nail care industry.
