Recyda Launches PPWR Navigator to Help Companies Meet EU Packaging Compliance Requirements

July 01, 2026

Recyda has launched the Recyda PPWR Navigator, a digital compliance platform designed to help companies meet the requirements of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) (Regulation (EU) 2025/40) ahead of the regulation’s August 12, 2026 compliance deadline.

The platform enables packaging teams to assess packaging portfolios, organize technical documentation, and prepare Declarations of Conformity (DoC) required under the new regulation. It is intended to help companies manage large numbers of stock-keeping units (SKUs) while addressing PPWR requirements covering areas such as Substances of Concern (Article 5), Reusability (Article 11), and future recyclability obligations under Article 6.

Headquartered in Germany, Recyda develops digital software for packaging sustainability and regulatory compliance. Over the past six years, the company has built solutions covering recyclability assessments, Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reporting and packaging data management. Its platform is used by brands, retailers and packaging manufacturers, including Beiersdorf, Müller, OBI and Amcor.

The PPWR Navigator expands Recyda’s software portfolio by combining packaging data management with compliance documentation. According to the company, users can analyze packaging portfolios for compliance gaps, generate technical documentation at scale, and integrate packaging data with existing enterprise systems through a single digital platform.

Christian Knobloch, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Recyda, said the company developed the platform to reduce the administrative burden associated with packaging compliance by replacing manual documentation processes with digital, auditable workflows.

The Navigator includes standardized templates for Declarations of Conformity and Technical Documentation that were developed in collaboration with industry initiatives and legal experts. Anna Zießow, Co-Founder and Managing Director, said the templates reflect established industry practices while allowing companies to customize documentation to meet their operational requirements.

Among the platform’s key functions are automated portfolio analysis, bulk document generation, data integration with internal systems, and centralized management of packaging compliance information. Recyda said these features are intended to reduce manual work, improve data consistency and support regulatory audits across large packaging portfolios.

Jürgen Dornheim, Executive Industry Advisor and former Director of Corporate Packaging Innovation & Sustainability at Procter & Gamble, said the platform provides companies with a scalable approach to managing the transition from existing EPR requirements to the more comprehensive obligations introduced under the PPWR.

The launch comes as packaging producers, brand owners and converters across the European Union prepare for new compliance obligations under the PPWR. The regulation introduces stricter requirements covering packaging design, documentation, recyclability, reuse and producer responsibility as part of the EU's broader circular economy strategy.

Recyda said the PPWR Navigator has been designed to support the August 2026 documentation deadline while remaining adaptable to future secondary legislation, including detailed recyclability requirements expected under Article 6 of the regulation.
