NWRA and Informa Markets Sign Eight-Year Agreement to Strengthen WasteExpo and Launch Waste Summit
The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA) and Informa Markets have officially signed an eight-year partnership agreement to continue hosting WasteExpo, the premier tradeshow for the waste and recycling industry, and to introduce a new biennial event, the Waste Summit. The contract was signed at WasteExpo 2025 in Las Vegas, marking a significant milestone in the ongoing collaboration between these two industry leaders, according to NWRA.
This agreement, which extends through 2033, aims to deliver enhanced experiences for exhibitors and attendees. With a focus on supporting the growth and innovation of the waste and recycling sector, the partnership is set to strengthen the environmental industry’s community and global presence.
Starting in 2027, WasteExpo will shift to a biennial format, allowing for more expansive product launches, larger exhibit spaces, and increased opportunities for networking and industry engagement. In addition, alternating years will see the launch of the Waste Summit, a new event designed to focus on education, leadership development, and building relationships within the waste management and recycling sectors. The inaugural Waste Summit is slated to take place in May 2026 in Washington, D.C.
Michael E. Hoffman, president and CEO of NWRA, emphasized the importance of the partnership in shaping the future of the industry: “This partnership marks a new chapter in delivering world-class events for the waste and recycling industry. By aligning the show cycle with industry innovation and adding a new summit focused on collaboration and leadership, we’re creating more opportunities for our members to grow, connect, and lead the future.”
Nancy Walsh, president of North America at Informa Markets, added, “We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with NWRA. Together, we are building on WasteExpo’s incredible legacy while introducing new ways to support the industry’s evolution through education, innovation, and community. We are confident providing these complementary platforms will enable even more impactful opportunities to connect, grow, and lead each year. ”
Looking ahead, both organizations are excited to share more details about the 2026 Waste Summit and WasteExpo 2027 in the coming months. As the industry continues to face new challenges, these events will be pivotal in shaping the future of waste management and recycling.
