Klean and KBR Join Forces to Advance Global Deployment of TyreNova™

According to an announcement by Klean Industries Inc., the company has entered into a Strategic Alliance Agreement with KBR Inc. to globally deploy TyreNova™, an advanced tire pyrolysis technology designed to convert end-of-life tires into valuable low-carbon resources. The partnership, according to the companies, marks a major milestone in scaling sustainable recycling solutions worldwide.
Under the agreement, KBR will serve as the exclusive licensing and delivery partner, responsible for the global sales, marketing, engineering, and implementation of TyreNova™ projects. Meanwhile, Klean Industries will continue to lead technological innovation and project development. Together, the two companies aim to provide turnkey recycling solutions that support the circular economy and reduce environmental impact on a global scale.
As reported by Klean Industries, the collaboration builds upon nearly a decade of proven commercial performance of the technology. “This alliance is built on proven performance,” said Jesse Klinkhamer, CEO of Klean Industries. “With KBR’s global reach, engineering depth and track-record at successfully scaling emerging sustainable technologies globally, we’re now scaling that success worldwide.”
The TyreNova™ system, according to technical details released by Klean, is built around three core components—the Kiln, Quench, and Thermal Afterburner—which operate in synergy to ensure high efficiency and low emissions during the tire recycling process. The name TyreNova™ combines “Tyre,” emphasizing its core focus on tire-to-resource transformation, and “Nova,” symbolizing renewal and innovation.
Industry observers noted that this partnership reflects a growing shift toward industrial-scale circular economy infrastructure, as global regulators and manufacturers intensify efforts to decarbonize production and reduce waste. Advanced pyrolysis systems such as TyreNova™ are increasingly viewed as scalable solutions for converting complex waste streams into market-ready materials, including recovered carbon black, renewable fuels, and steel.
According to industry analysis, the collaboration is expected to accelerate the global adoption of sustainable tire recycling technologies, particularly across North America, Europe, and Asia. The alliance also aligns with the broader trend of governments and investors pressuring industries to implement circular production models and demonstrate measurable sustainability outcomes.
In conclusion, the strategic alliance between Klean Industries and KBR highlights the convergence of proven technology and global engineering capabilities. It signifies a step forward in turning circularity into industrial infrastructure and positioning advanced tire recycling as a key contributor to the global low-carbon economy.
