Circularix Opens Florida Recycling Facility, Plans Pennsylvania Expansion

August 28, 2025

Circularix, a U.S.-based producer of food-grade recycled PET (rPET), has officially started operations at its newly built recycling facility in Ocala, Florida, while also preparing to expand capacity at its original site in Hatfield, Pennsylvania, according to a company announcement.

The Ocala plant marks Circularix’s second large-scale recycling facility and significantly increases the company’s ability to supply high-quality rPET resin to major consumer brands. The company reported the plant moved from equipment delivery in mid-March to commercial operation by early August, reflecting an accelerated development timeline.

“From landing equipment in mid-March to reaching full production by August 1, this milestone is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our team. Their commitment made it possible to bring our second facility online at unprecedented speed,” said Leon Farahnik, Founder and CEO of Circularix.

Alongside the Ocala launch, the company has also initiated expansion plans in Pennsylvania by acquiring additional industrial space adjacent to its Hatfield site. The move is expected to boost output and enhance supply reliability for consumer goods manufacturers.

The new Ocala site is designed to meet stringent food-grade standards for recycled plastics, enabling beverage and food companies to source sustainable materials without compromising quality. With growing demand for rPET driven by sustainability commitments from leading brands, Circularix’s expanded capacity positions it as a critical supplier in the U.S. market.

The U.S. recycling industry is under increasing pressure to deliver food-grade recycled materials that align with federal safety regulations and corporate sustainability pledges. Industry observers note that demand for rPET is expected to rise sharply as packaging regulations tighten and consumer brands accelerate commitments to reduce virgin plastic usage. Circularix’s expansion not only strengthens domestic supply but also reduces reliance on imports, supporting the broader shift toward a circular plastics economy.

With its Florida facility online and Pennsylvania expansion underway, Circularix is reinforcing its role in helping consumer brands transition to more sustainable packaging. The company’s rapid scaling underscores the growing momentum of the circular economy in the U.S. plastics sector.
