Indorama Ventures has showcased three fashion collections made with recycled polyester fabrics at the RECO Collective 2026 Final Show in Bangkok, highlighting how post-consumer PET bottles can be turned into materials for fashion and lifestyle products.

Held on October 22 at NEXTOPIA, Siam Paragon, the event featured collections from Thai brands CHANA, KH EDITIONS and APPEAL Summerwear under the theme “THE NEXT ORIGINAL.” Each collection took a different creative direction while using fabrics made from deja™ recycled polyester yarns produced by Indorama Ventures from post-consumer PET bottles.

CHANA presented THE MIRAGED SYMMETRY, inspired by desert landscapes and mirrored architecture. KH EDITIONS introduced HIGHWAY LEGACY, drawing on Thai street culture and road-inspired imagery, while APPEAL Summerwear showcased BEYOND THE BLUE, a collection influenced by the sea and summer living. Together, the designs illustrate how recycled polyester can serve a range of fashion applications rather than being limited to conventional packaging uses.

The collections also reflect the cooperation needed to bring recycled materials into finished products. Indorama Ventures supplied the recycled polyester yarns, while Thai textile specialist Bulliontex developed the fabrics and provided technical guidance. Epson contributed digital textile printing technology, and retail partners NEXTOPIA and ECOTOPIA helped connect the products with consumers. The initiative also includes the RECO Incubation Lab, which offers emerging designers industry mentorship and support in developing market-ready products.

Originally launched in 2011 as the RECO Young Designer Competition, the program has engaged more than 1,000 designers across 12 editions. Its development into RECO Collective reflects a broader effort to connect material suppliers, manufacturers, designers and retailers.

For the recycling industry, this type of collaboration addresses an important challenge: recovered materials need reliable end markets to deliver lasting commercial value. Turning PET bottles into polyester textiles creates another application for recycled plastics, although it differs from textile-to-textile recycling, which recovers materials from discarded fabrics. Wider adoption will depend on product quality, manufacturing costs, consistent material supply, and consumer demand.

SUNSHINE SPOTLIGHT: Recycling involves more than recovering materials; it also requires viable applications and markets for their reuse. Indorama Ventures’ RECO Collective 2026 shows how post-consumer PET bottles can become textile materials and finished fashion products through cooperation across the supply chain.
