FirmaPak Enters Canada With Acquisition of Easy Plastic Containers

FirmaPak has agreed to acquire Easy Plastic Containers Corporation, extending the U.S.-based blow-molded packaging manufacturer’s footprint into Canada as consolidation accelerates across the rigid plastics sector, according to company statements and industry reporting.

The deal brings Easy Plastic Containers, a long-established supplier of plastic bottles for health and beauty, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, industrial, and automotive customers, into FirmaPak’s expanding portfolio. Observers note the transaction reflects a broader push by mid-market packaging groups to scale geographically while deepening exposure to regulated end markets such as pharmaceuticals and personal care.

Founded in 1979, Easy Plastic Containers operates two manufacturing facilities near Toronto and has built a customer base centered on both custom and stock bottle formats. The company has remained family-run since its inception, a structure that analysts say is increasingly rare as private equity interest and strategic buyers target North American plastics assets with stable cash flow and diversified end uses.

FirmaPak said the acquisition adds Canadian production capacity and enhances its technical capabilities in higher-specification packaging, particularly for personal care and pharmaceutical applications. Industry groups argue that proximity to customers and redundancy in manufacturing locations have become more critical as supply chains remain sensitive to labor constraints, logistics costs, and regulatory scrutiny.

Under the agreement, Easy Plastic Containers will continue to operate under its existing name and management team. President Nick Seretis will remain in charge, a continuity that industry sources say is often key to retaining customers in relationship-driven packaging segments. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

FirmaPak Chief Executive Rob Goldberg said the purchase aligns with the company’s strategy of combining organic growth with selective acquisitions to broaden service offerings and production reach. Easy Plastic Containers’ leadership said the partnership is expected to provide additional capital and operational flexibility while maintaining established service standards.

The acquisition adds Ontario to FirmaPak’s manufacturing network, which already spans facilities in Kansas, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and California. The company has expanded steadily in recent years, bringing multiple blow-molding businesses under a unified brand as customers seek larger suppliers capable of serving multiple regions.

Analysts say the deal underscores continued momentum in North America’s plastic packaging M&A market, driven by demand from consumer staples and healthcare customers and by buyers seeking scale efficiencies amid rising compliance and sustainability costs. Further consolidation is likely, particularly among privately held manufacturers with niche capabilities or strong regional positions.
