CSI Electronics Processing Centre Earns R2v3 Certification for Ontario ITAD Facility

April 29, 2026

CSI Electronics Processing Centre Ltd. has achieved R2v3 certification for its Oakville, Ontario facility, marking a further step in aligning its operations with global standards for electronics recycling and data security.

According to company reports, the certification, issued by Amtivo, applies to the company’s information technology asset disposition (ITAD) operations and confirms compliance with requirements covering environmental protection, worker health and safety, and secure handling of electronic data.

Developed by Sustainable Electronics Recycling International, the R2v3 standard is widely used across the electronics recycling industry to establish consistent practices for managing end-of-life IT equipment.

With the Oakville site now certified, CSI EPC operates two R2v3-certified facilities in Canada. The company said the milestone forms part of a broader effort to certify all of its domestic locations, as demand grows for verified downstream handling of electronic assets.

R2v3 certification involves an organization-wide audit process, including controls on data destruction, material tracking and vendor management. Companies pursuing the standard must demonstrate traceability across the recycling chain and adherence to strict documentation and reporting requirements.

CSI EPC said the certification reinforces its focus on data security and operational quality for enterprise customers managing IT asset lifecycles. The company operates as a subsidiary of CSI Leasing Canada Ltd. and is affiliated with EPC Global Solutions, which provides ITAD services internationally.

Certification programs such as R2v3 have gained traction as regulators and corporate clients place greater emphasis on responsible e-waste management and secure data handling, particularly as volumes of retired IT equipment continue to rise.
