ALPLA Expands U.S. Packaging Footprint with New Las Vegas Plant

ALPLA is opening a new plant for the production of plastic packaging in North Las Vegas.

Austria-based plastic packaging producer and recycler ALPLA Group is expanding its U.S. manufacturing network with a new 140,000-square-foot facility in North Las Vegas, Nevada, according to company reports. The plant will produce plastic bottles for domestic and international customers using extrusion blow moulding and is expected to begin operations in spring 2027.

The facility will be ALPLA’s second manufacturing location in the western United States, alongside its existing site in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company said the North Las Vegas location will bring production closer to key customers and provide access to major transportation corridors and regional distribution networks.

ALPLA specializes in PET and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) packaging and also operates recycling facilities for the two materials in countries including Austria, Germany, Poland, Mexico, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Romania, Thailand and Brazil. The company said further recycling projects are under development.

Postconsumer recycled resin (PCR) will also be used in some products planned for production at the Las Vegas facility, according to industry reports. The company did not disclose a specific recycled-content target for the site.

The plant will serve customers in food and beverage, health and beauty, and home care. ALPLA said the investment will add production capacity while giving the company greater flexibility to respond to changes in customer demand.

“This investment represents an important step in ALPLA’s long-term North American growth strategy,” said Tasos Pourloukakis, regional managing director of ALPLA North America. He said the new operation will strengthen customer service while expanding the company’s capacity and flexibility.

ALPLA now operates 19 sites in the United States and employs about 25,500 people across more than 200 locations in 45 countries. The North Las Vegas facility is expected to create 36 local jobs.
