Copper Prices Fell! SUNSHINE Weekly Scrap Prices Tracker: June 16-20, 2025
This week (June 16 to 20, 2025), scrap metal prices exhibited some fluctuations across different markets. Based on the price data from SUNSHINE for scrap metals in China, India and United States, the following is a report on the prices of Copper Scrap and Aluminum Scrap in the three countries.
China – Scrap Copper Prices
This week (June 16 to 20, 2025), scrap copper prices in China showed a mild downward trend with slight fluctuations. Weekly declines ranged from 0.28% to 0.42%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 13), prices followed the same downward trend.
Copper (Cu≈98%) had the largest decrease, falling from 72,000 CNY/MT (June 16) to 71,700 CNY/MT (June 20), down 300 CNY/MT or 0.42%.
Bright Copper Wire followed, declining from 73,000 CNY/MT (June 16) to 72,700 CNY/MT (June 20), also down 300 CNY/MT or 0.41%.

China – Scrap Aluminum Prices
This week (June 16 to 20, 2025), scrap aluminum prices in China showed a slight upward trend with minor fluctuations, with increases ranging from 0.14% to 0.58%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 13), only Packing Cans showed a minor increase while other categories remained stable or declined slightly.
Iron Free Mechanical Aluminum posted the largest increase, rising from 17,300 CNY/MT (June 16) to 17,400 CNY/MT (June 20), up 100 CNY/MT or 0.58%.
Compared to the previous week, Packing Cans recorded a small gain, rising from 15,850 CNY/MT (June 13) to 15,900 CNY/MT (June 20), up 50 CNY/MT or 0.32%.

India – Scrap Copper Prices
This week (June 16 to 20, 2025), scrap copper prices in India showed a stable upward trend. Brass Hunny Scrap remained unchanged, while other categories posted gains ranging from 0.07% to 0.84%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 13), all categories recorded slight increases from 0.17% to 0.84%.
Brass Sheet Cutting saw the highest gain, increasing from 595 INR/kg (June 16) to 600 INR/kg (June 20), up 5 INR/kg or 0.84%.
Compared to the previous week, Brass Sheet Cutting still posted the largest increase, followed by Brass, which rose from 486.5 INR/kg (June 13) to 490 INR/kg (June 20), up 3.5 INR/kg or 0.72%.

India – Scrap Aluminum Prices
This week (June 16 to 20, 2025), scrap aluminum prices in India were mixed. No.2 Aluminum recorded a slight decline, Aluminium Accessories Scrap remained stable, and other categories increased by 0.23% to 1.30%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 13), No.2 Aluminum and Aluminium Accessories Scrap stayed flat, while other categories rose by 0.29% to 1.30%.
Aluminium Wire Scrap recorded the largest increase, from 231 INR/kg (June 16) to 234 INR/kg (June 20), up 3 INR/kg or 1.30%.
Next was Aluminium Utensils Scrap, rising from 204 INR/kg (June 16) to 205 INR/kg (June 20), up 1 INR/kg or 0.49%.

United States – Scrap Copper Prices
This week (June 16 to 20, 2025), scrap copper prices in the US showed a downward trend. Brass remained unchanged, while other categories fell between 0.30% and 0.63%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 13), all prices remained flat.
Sheet Copper had the largest drop, from 3.17 USD/Lb (June 16) to 3.15 USD/Lb (June 20), down 0.02 USD/Lb or 0.63%.
Copper No.1 followed, falling from 3.87 USD/Lb (June 16) to 3.85 USD/Lb (June 20), a decline of 0.02 USD/Lb or 0.52%.

United States – Scrap Aluminum Prices
This week (June 16 to 20, 2025), scrap aluminum prices in the US trended downward. AL Sheet and Aluminum Copper Unit remained stable, while other categories dropped between 1.23% and 3.51%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 13), all prices were stable.
Aluminum Wire recorded the largest drop, from 0.57 USD/Lb (June 16) to 0.55 USD/Lb (June 20), down 0.02 USD/Lb or 3.51%.
Next was Cast Alum, which fell from 0.69 USD/Lb (June 16) to 0.67 USD/Lb (June 20), down 0.02 USD/Lb or 2.90%.
