Comstock Metals to Recycle Solar Manufacturing Materials Under Agreement With Illuminate USA

According to company reports, Comstock Metals LLC has signed a Solar Material Recycling Services Agreement with Illuminate USA LLC to recycle manufacturing byproducts generated at the company’s solar panel production facility in Pataskala, Ohio. The partnership expands Comstock’s presence in the growing U.S. solar recycling market while supporting Illuminate USA’s efforts to integrate circular resource management into its manufacturing operations.

Under the agreement, Comstock Metals will provide transportation, sorting and recycling services for a range of materials generated during solar panel production. The company said the program is designed to ensure that manufacturing byproducts are diverted from landfill and processed into reusable industrial materials.

Illuminate USA operates what it describes as the largest single-site solar panel manufacturing facility in North America. The collaboration will initially focus on recycling manufacturing waste streams over the coming years as production continues at the Ohio facility.

Comstock Metals operates a network of recycling facilities across the United States, including operations in central Ohio, positioning the company to support manufacturers throughout the Midwest, one of the country’s largest solar energy markets. The company specializes in recycling end-of-life solar panels and manufacturing materials through processes designed to achieve zero-landfill outcomes.
