Ardagh Glass Packaging Partners with CAP Glass to Launch Glass Recycling Initiative Across the U.S.

In a move set to significantly impact the U.S. recycling landscape, Ardagh Glass Packaging-North America (AGP-North America) has announced a strategic partnership with CAP Glass, one of the nation’s largest glass recyclers. According to reports from Ardagh Group’s official site, this long-term collaboration will focus on establishing glass recycling services throughout the United States, diverting tens of thousands of tons of glass from landfills.

The partnership will see CAP Glass utilizing state-of-the-art technology to collect, sort, process, and recycle glass bottles, converting them into high-quality cullet. This cullet will be used in AGP-North America’s glass production, specifically for the creation of new, infinitely recyclable glass containers.

AGP-North America’s Vice President of Procurement, Derek Wall, expressed high praise for CAP Glass’s contribution, commending their innovative approach and forward-thinking vision. “Their innovative ideas and long-term vision have played a pivotal role in making this collaboration a success,” Wall said.

The collaboration, which forms part of AGP-North America’s broader sustainability efforts, will facilitate a closed-loop recycling system, ensuring that glass is continually reused. This process not only reduces the environmental footprint of AGP-North America’s manufacturing operations but also guarantees the supply of premium glass packaging for brands across the country.
