Aluminum Prices Fell! SUNSHINE Weekly Scrap Prices Tracker: June 23-27, 2025
This week (June 23 to 27, 2025), scrap metal prices exhibited some fluctuations across different markets. Based on the price data from SUNSHINE for scrap metals in China, India and United States, the following is a report on the prices of Copper Scrap and Aluminum Scrap in the three countries.
China – Scrap Copper Prices
During the week of June 23 to 27, 2025, scrap copper prices in China generally showed an upward trend. Prices remained stable in the first two days and rose steadily over the following three days, with weekly increases ranging from 0.69% to 1.16%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 20), price movements were consistent with this week’s trend.
Motor Copper recorded the largest gain, rising from 68,700 CNY/MT (June 23) to 69,500 CNY/MT (June 27), an increase of 800 CNY/MT or 1.16%.
Next was Fire Line, which rose from 71,500 CNY/MT (June 23) to 72,300 CNY/MT (June 27), up 800 CNY/MT or 1.12%.

China – Scrap Aluminum Prices
During the same period, scrap aluminum prices in China showed mixed movements. Most categories saw slight declines, ranging from 0.14% to 0.63%. However, 6 Series Aluminum Chips, Iron Free Mechanical Aluminum, and Raw Aluminum recorded gains between 0.56% and 1.18%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 20), the overall trend was similar, though the declines were larger last week.
Packing Cans had the largest drop this week, falling from 15,850 CNY/MT (June 23) to 15,750 CNY/MT (June 27), down 100 CNY/MT or 0.63%.
Raw Aluminum recorded the largest increase, rising from 16,950 CNY/MT (June 23) to 17,150 CNY/MT (June 27), an increase of 200 CNY/MT or 1.18%.

India – Scrap Copper Prices
This week (June 23 to 27, 2025), scrap copper prices in India trended upward, with gains ranging from 0.26% to 1.48%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 20), the overall trend was similar, though some categories posted higher increases this week.
Copper Wire Scrap saw the largest increase, rising from 809 INR/kg (June 23) to 821 INR/kg (June 27), up 12 INR/kg or 1.48%.
No.2 Copper followed, increasing from 560.75 INR/kg (June 23) to 567.5 INR/kg (June 27), up 6.75 INR/kg or 1.20%.

India – Scrap Aluminum Prices
Scrap aluminum prices in India showed mixed movements during the week. Most categories rose slightly, with gains ranging from 0.43% to 0.51%, while No.1 Aluminum and No.2 Aluminum saw slight declines of 0.14%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 20), No.1 and No.2 Aluminum remained unchanged week-over-week, while other aluminum scrap categories showed the same gains as this week.
Aluminium Accessories Scrap posted the largest increase, rising from 196 INR/kg (June 23) to 197 INR/kg (June 27), an increase of 1 INR/kg or 0.51%.
Next was Aluminium Utensils Scrap, which rose from 205 INR/kg (June 23) to 206 INR/kg (June 27), up 1 INR/kg or 0.49%.

United States – Scrap Copper Prices
This week, scrap copper prices in the US declined, with the exception of Brass, which remained stable. Other categories posted decreases ranging from 0.30% to 0.63%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 20), all copper scrap prices remained unchanged.
Sheet Copper saw the largest drop, falling from 3.17 USD/Lb (June 23) to 3.15 USD/Lb (June 27), down 0.02 USD/Lb or 0.63%.
Next was Copper No.1, which declined from 3.87 USD/Lb (June 23) to 3.85 USD/Lb (June 27), a decrease of 0.02 USD/Lb or 0.52%.

United States – Scrap Aluminum Prices
Scrap aluminum prices in the US trended downward this week. AL Sheet and Aluminum Copper Unit remained stable, while other categories declined between 2.44% and 3.51%. Compared to the previous week (reference date: June 20), all aluminum scrap prices were unchanged.
Aluminum Wire experienced the steepest drop, falling from 0.57 USD/Lb (June 23) to 0.55 USD/Lb (June 27), a decrease of 0.02 USD/Lb or 3.51%.
Cast Alum followed, declining from 0.69 USD/Lb (June 23) to 0.67 USD/Lb (June 27), down 0.02 USD/Lb or 2.90%.
