Ecobat Completes Sale of Lithium Recycling Business

Ecobat has completed the sale of its lithium recycling business, including its lithium-ion battery recycling operations and assets in Casa Grande, Arizona. The transaction marks the company’s final step in exiting the lithium recycling business and follows the previously completed sales of its lithium operations in Darlaston, United Kingdom, and Hettstedt, Germany.

With the Casa Grande transaction completed, Ecobat will focus its operations on lead recycling in North America. The company said the series of divestments allows it to concentrate its resources on its remaining lead recycling business.

“This sale completes our exit from lithium recycling and allows us to devote our full attention and resources to our core strength: operating our North American lead recycling business,” said Tom Slabe, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ecobat. “Going forward, we will continue to pursue opportunities to maximize value for shareholders.”

The company did not disclose financial terms for the Casa Grande transaction. The sale concludes Ecobat’s lithium recycling operations across the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany, leaving its North American lead recycling business as its primary operating focus.

Slabe also thanked employees involved in building and expanding the lithium recycling business, saying he expects the operations to continue under their new ownership.
